This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.159

भगवतो सार्थवाहो हितकरो अप्रमत्तो पुरतो स्थित्व अवच स कृष्णबन्धु ।
शृणोहि तात मम गिरां भाष्यमाणां मा अत्र दोषं प्रजने अप्रसादं ॥ १५९ ॥

bhagavato sārthavāho hitakaro apramatto purato sthitva avaca sa kṛṣṇabandhu |
śṛṇohi tāta mama girāṃ bhāṣyamāṇāṃ mā atra doṣaṃ prajane aprasādaṃ || 159 ||

Then Sarthavaha, Mara’s son, who was well-disposed to the Exalted One, and alert, stood in front of his father and spoke to him. “Listen, father,” said he, “to the words I speak. Do not breed distrustful hate. (159)
