This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 49.8

सुभाषितान् ते एतस्मिं सब्रह्मा परिषा इयं ।
हृष्टा आत्तमना सर्वे प्रीतिसुखसमर्पिता ॥ ८ ॥

subhāṣitān te etasmiṃ sabrahmā pariṣā iyaṃ |
hṛṣṭā āttamanā sarve prītisukhasamarpitā || 8 ||

Brahma’s company were all thrilled, elated, filled with joy and gladness at these eloquent words. (8)
