This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 44.10

कर्मारभस्त्राः श्वसन्ति अंगारं पुन दह्यति ।
लोहं लोहेन पीडेति कर्मारशालां पिता गतो ॥ १० ॥

karmārabhastrāḥ śvasanti aṃgāraṃ puna dahyati |
lohaṃ lohena pīḍeti karmāraśālāṃ pitā gato || 10 ||

The smith’s bellows blow, the coals glow again, metal is struck by metal—your father is gone to his smithy. (10)
