This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 19.144

न जायन्ति न जीर्यन्ति न मृयन्ति कथंचन ।
परमं मित्रम् आसाद्य विनीता वरबुद्धिना ॥ १४४ ॥

na jāyanti na jīryanti na mṛyanti kathaṃcana |
paramaṃ mitram āsādya vinītā varabuddhinā || 144 ||

Those who have drawn nigh to the highest friend and are converted by his wisdom, are in no wise reborn, nor grow old, nor die. (144)
