This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 7.39

ते च दुन्दुभिन नादं नदन्तं श्रुत्व शासनकरा सुगतस्य ।
भूमिकम्पम् अनुदृश्य च घोरं काश्यपं धुतरजं इदम् ऊचुः ॥ ३९ ॥

te ca dundubhina nādaṃ nadantaṃ śrutva śāsanakarā sugatasya |
bhūmikampam anudṛśya ca ghoraṃ kāśyapaṃ dhutarajaṃ idam ūcuḥ || 39 ||

And when they who were establishing the Sugata’s teaching heard the echoing sound of the drums and saw the terrible quaking of the earth, they spoke thus to the saintly Kashyapa:— (39)
