The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सदेहा व्यवहारस्था अपि सुप्ता इवोत्तमाः ।
प्रक्षीणा इव लक्ष्यन्ते जडाभा न तु ते जडाः ॥ १३ ॥

sadehā vyavahārasthā api suptā ivottamāḥ |
prakṣīṇā iva lakṣyante jaḍābhā na tu te jaḍāḥ || 13 ||

Good people seem to be sleepy in their minds, though they are seen to be wakeful and employed in business with their bodies; they remain as inactive as any inert body, though they are never dormant in their souls.
