The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मुनिरुवाच ।
अकारणत्वात्सर्गादावेवानुत्पादतः स्फुटात् ।
अज्ञातौ सर्गशब्दार्थावेव न स्तो मनागपि ॥ ६ ॥

muniruvāca |
akāraṇatvātsargādāvevānutpādataḥ sphuṭāt |
ajñātau sargaśabdārthāveva na sto manāgapi || 6 ||

The sage replied:—All these things and the world also are mere non-entities, as there was no pre-existent material cause for the production of the world, before its coming to existence; therefore neither the term creation nor its sense, is in any way applicable to this world or [as] it is seen by us.
