The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अनादृतान्यतद्दोषं तावन्मात्रं समाश्रयेत् ।
गुणान्दोषांश्च विज्ञातुमाबाल्यात्स्वप्रयत्नतः ॥ १९ ॥

anādṛtānyataddoṣaṃ tāvanmātraṃ samāśrayet |
guṇāndoṣāṃśca vijñātumābālyātsvaprayatnataḥ || 19 ||

Mind not his fault but respect his merit, and learn to scan the good and bad qualities of men from thy youth with all diligence.
