The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.60.38

इतः शुभेन नश्यन्ति यान्ति पापैस्तथा दिवम् ।
विषाशनेन जीवन्ति म्रियन्तेऽमृतभोजनैः ॥ ३८ ॥

itaḥ śubhena naśyanti yānti pāpaistathā divam |
viṣāśanena jīvanti mriyante'mṛtabhojanaiḥ || 38 ||

There are many here, that are lost by their goodness, while there are others, who thrive and ascend to heaven by their wickedness;some [that] come [to] life by drinking of poison, and many that die by the taste of nectar.
