The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.57.16

सम एव चिदाकाशः कचत्यात्मनि तत्तथा ।
स्वभाव एव सर्गाख्यश्चित्त्वाच्चैतन्यमीश्वरः ॥ १६ ॥

sama eva cidākāśaḥ kacatyātmani tattathā |
svabhāva eva sargākhyaścittvāccaitanyamīśvaraḥ || 16 ||

(But the universe is not altogether a void and nihility). It is the same as it shines itself in the spacious intellect of the supreme soul (or spirit); it is the divine nature itself which is termed as creation, and which is an intellectual system having proceeded from the intellect, and the self-same divinity.
