The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.43.55

मन एवार्थसंस्कारः स चाभावात्मको भ्रमः ।
सर्वात्मत्वादजस्यैतदप्यकारणकं मनः ॥ ५५ ॥

mana evārthasaṃskāraḥ sa cābhāvātmako bhramaḥ |
sarvātmatvādajasyaitadapyakāraṇakaṃ manaḥ || 55 ||

The mind which is the framer of objective thoughts, is a nihility of itself and an error also. The eternal spirit being the sole soul of all, it is useless to imagine the entity of the mind.
