The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.15.13

जगद्बीजमहंत्वं यो मार्ष्टि वोधादवेदनात् ।
अलं चित्रं जलेनेव तेन धौतं जगन्मलम् ॥ १३ ॥

jagadbījamahaṃtvaṃ yo mārṣṭi vodhādavedanāt |
alaṃ citraṃ jaleneva tena dhautaṃ jaganmalam || 13 ||

He who effaces the seed of his egoism from his understanding, by means of his ignoring it altogether; has verily washed off the picture of the world from his mind, by the water of ignorance of it.
