The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.6.35

संसारजङ्गले शून्ये दग्धं नरमृगं शठाः ।
आश्वास्याश्वास्य निघ्नन्ति विषयेन्द्रियलुब्धकाः ॥ ३५ ॥

saṃsārajaṅgale śūnye dagdhaṃ naramṛgaṃ śaṭhāḥ |
āśvāsyāśvāsya nighnanti viṣayendriyalubdhakāḥ || 35 ||

I see the deceitful organs of sense like so many sly huntsmen, have laid their snares about the wild forest of this world, only to entrap all unwary people in them, as they do the silly stags or beasts of prey by enticements.
