The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

एकामथ द्वितीयां वा तृतीयां चेतरा च वा ।
आरूढस्य मृतस्याथ कीदृशी भगवन्गतिः ॥ ४४ ॥

ekāmatha dvitīyāṃ vā tṛtīyāṃ cetarā ca vā |
ārūḍhasya mṛtasyātha kīdṛśī bhagavangatiḥ || 44 ||

Who has never ascended on any of the first, second or succeeding stages of yoga, and is dead in the like state of ignorance in which he was born.
