The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

नियोज्य दंपती कान्तौ तयोर्विविशतुः स्वयम् ।
स हुत्वा तिललाजानि पावकाय शिखिध्वजः ॥ ५६ ॥

niyojya daṃpatī kāntau tayorviviśatuḥ svayam |
sa hutvā tilalājāni pāvakāya śikhidhvajaḥ || 56 ||

After sitting on the altar, the matrimonial couple kindled the nuptial fire, and made offerings of sesame seeds, and fried rice upon its flames.
