The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यल्लोहवज्रसारेण वारणः परियन्त्रितः ।
तदाशापाशजालेन भवानापदमावृतः ॥ ५ ॥

yallohavajrasāreṇa vāraṇaḥ pariyantritaḥ |
tadāśāpāśajālena bhavānāpadamāvṛtaḥ || 5 ||

As the mighty elephant was caught in the strong iron chain, so are you held fast in the snare of your desire (of a future reward); which has brought all this calamity on you.
