The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

न हि शीर्यत्यचित्तात्मा त्यक्तसर्वपरिग्रहः ।
कर्मण्यभिप्रवृत्तोऽपि नैव किंचित्करोति सः ॥ ४ ॥

na hi śīryatyacittātmā tyaktasarvaparigrahaḥ |
karmaṇyabhipravṛtto'pi naiva kiṃcitkaroti saḥ || 4 ||

The soul is not weakened like the sentient mind, by the loss of the sensible objects of enjoyment, and incessantly employed in action, yet it does nothing by itself.
