The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.46.3

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
यथा ब्रह्माण्डकूश्माण्डमज्जामेर्वादिसंस्थितिः ।
तथा चिद्विल्वमज्जेयं ब्रह्माण्डादिजगत्स्थितिः ॥ ३ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
yathā brahmāṇḍakūśmāṇḍamajjāmervādisaṃsthitiḥ |
tathā cidvilvamajjeyaṃ brahmāṇḍādijagatsthitiḥ || 3 ||

Vasishtha answered said:—As this mundane egg or universe is likened to a gourd fruit, containing the mountains and all other things as its inner substance; so doth the intellect resemble the bel fruit or the grand substratum, that contains even the universe as the kernel inside it.
