The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अविद्यमानमेवेदं विद्यमानमिव स्थितम् ।
यथा तन्मे समासेन भगवन्वक्तुमर्हसि ॥ २७ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
avidyamānamevedaṃ vidyamānamiva sthitam |
yathā tanme samāsena bhagavanvaktumarhasi || 27 ||

Vasishtha said:—Please Lord! explain to me in short, how the ever existent Deity remains as non-existent, and could it come to existence from its prior state of nihility?
