The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

व्योम्नि योजनमात्रं तु मदनुव्रज्यया गतः ।
करं करेणावष्टभ्य बलात्संरोधितः खगः ॥ १४ ॥

vyomni yojanamātraṃ tu madanuvrajyayā gataḥ |
karaṃ kareṇāvaṣṭabhya balātsaṃrodhitaḥ khagaḥ || 14 ||

Yet the bird followed me a few miles (yojana) in the air, when I hindered his proceeding farther by compelling him to return after shaking our hands.
