The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मयि याते क्षणेनैव गगनाध्वन्यदृश्यताम् ।
निवृत्तोऽसौ विहंगेन्द्रो दुस्त्यजा संगतिः सताम् ॥ १५ ॥

mayi yāte kṣaṇenaiva gaganādhvanyadṛśyatām |
nivṛtto'sau vihaṃgendro dustyajā saṃgatiḥ satām || 15 ||

The chief of birds looked up for some time, as I soared upward in my ethereal journey, and then he returned with reluctance, because it is difficult to part from the company of the good.
