The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.66.24

शुष्यतः कायसरसः प्रगलद्यौवनाम्भसः ।
राजहंसः क्षणादायुरनिवर्ति पलायते ॥ २४ ॥

śuṣyataḥ kāyasarasaḥ pragaladyauvanāmbhasaḥ |
rājahaṃsaḥ kṣaṇādāyuranivarti palāyate || 24 ||

As the channel of the body dries up in old age, and the water of youth is drained out of it; so the swan of life flies away far from it, and there is nothing to retard its flight.
