The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

न संभवति संसारे गुणहीनो गुणी यथा ।
न संभवत्यात्मसंविद्वर्जितो ह्यात्मवांस्तथा ॥ २० ॥

na saṃbhavati saṃsāre guṇahīno guṇī yathā |
na saṃbhavatyātmasaṃvidvarjito hyātmavāṃstathā || 20 ||

As there is no skilful man, without some skill or other in the world; so there is no intelligent being, without the knowledge of his soul and self-consciousness here.
