The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.49.36

तेनासौ भ्रमयोगेषु सुखदुःखविलासिषु ।
न निमज्जति मग्नोऽपि तुम्बीपात्रमिवाम्भसि ॥ ३६ ॥

tenāsau bhramayogeṣu sukhaduḥkhavilāsiṣu |
na nimajjati magno'pi tumbīpātramivāmbhasi || 36 ||

This general and oecumenical view of all things, preserves people from the mistaken notions of pleasure and pain; and makes the drowning wretch as buoyant, as the floating gourd or bottle tied to a sinking net.
