The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.45.16

कलत्रवन्तं संपन्नं स्थितं प्रक्षीणयौवनम् ।
शनैर्जर्जरतां यातं वृष्टिहीनमिव स्थलम् ॥ १६ ॥

kalatravantaṃ saṃpannaṃ sthitaṃ prakṣīṇayauvanam |
śanairjarjaratāṃ yātaṃ vṛṣṭihīnamiva sthalam || 16 ||

After passing their youth in family life, they came gradually to their decay and decline; till at last they were overtaken by decrepit old age, which was as dry of pleasure as the parched ground of the desert.
