The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.31.9

स्फुरन्त्यसुरवीराणां गृहेष्वविरतानिलैः ।
धूसरा भस्मनीहारा धूपधूमभरा इव ॥ ९ ॥

sphurantyasuravīrāṇāṃ gṛheṣvaviratānilaiḥ |
dhūsarā bhasmanīhārā dhūpadhūmabharā iva || 9 ||

We see the houses of our gigantic demons, filled with clouds of dusts and frost, wafted by gusts of wind by day and night;and resembling the fumes of fire which burnt them down.
