The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.13.97

मुधा मैवमनर्थाय मनः संकल्पयानघ ।
मनो मिथ्यासमुदितं नास्त्यत्र परमार्थतः ॥ ९७ ॥

mudhā maivamanarthāya manaḥ saṃkalpayānagha |
mano mithyāsamuditaṃ nāstyatra paramārthataḥ || 97 ||

It is in vain and to no purpose, that they imagine the being of the mind. It is proved to be an unreality and having no substantiality of its own.
