The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथा मणिर्ददात्यात्मच्छायाः स्वयमकारणम् ।
तेजोमयीस्तथैवायमात्मा सृष्टीः प्रयच्छति ॥ ३७ ॥

yathā maṇirdadātyātmacchāyāḥ svayamakāraṇam |
tejomayīstathaivāyamātmā sṛṣṭīḥ prayacchati || 37 ||

The bright substance of our soul, presents to us the picture of creation, as a bright gem casts its glare to no purpose; but by its own nature.
