The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.15.34

वीतरागोऽप्यनिच्छोऽपि समङ्गाविप्ररूपवान् ।
स शुशोच तनुं शुक्रः स्वभावो ह्येष देहजः ॥ ३४ ॥

vītarāgo'pyaniccho'pi samaṅgāviprarūpavān |
sa śuśoca tanuṃ śukraḥ svabhāvo hyeṣa dehajaḥ || 34 ||

Though impassionate and devoid of desire as Sukra was, yet he sorrowed for his body, according to the nature of all being born of flesh.
