The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.76.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अथाभवदसौ सूची कर्कटीराक्षसी पुनः ।
सूक्ष्मैव स्थौल्यमायाता मेघलेखेव वार्षिकी ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
athābhavadasau sūcī karkaṭīrākṣasī punaḥ |
sūkṣmaiva sthaulyamāyātā meghalekheva vārṣikī || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—Suchi the needle now became the fiend Karkati again; and her leanness turned to bulkiness, in the manner of a flimsy cloud; assuming a gigantic form in the rainy season.
