The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्रबुद्धलीलोवाच ।
यथैव जन्तुर्म्रियते जायते च यथा पुनः ।
तन्मे कथय देवेशि पुनर्बोधविवृद्धये ॥ १ ॥

prabuddhalīlovāca |
yathaiva janturmriyate jāyate ca yathā punaḥ |
tanme kathaya deveśi punarbodhavivṛddhaye || 1 ||

Lila said:—Tell me, goddess! for edification of my knowledge, the manner in which a living being comes to die and to be re-born in another form.
