The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.54.59

यदा व्यथावशान्नाड्यः स्वसंकोचविकासनैः ।
गृह्णन्तिमारुतो देहे तदोज्झति निजां स्थितिम् ॥ ५९ ॥

yadā vyathāvaśānnāḍyaḥ svasaṃkocavikāsanaiḥ |
gṛhṇantimāruto dehe tadojjhati nijāṃ sthitim || 59 ||

When the disease and its pain overpower the body, and prevent the lungs and arteries to expand and contract, in order to inhale and exhale the air, it loses its equipoise (samana) and becomes restless.
