The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जहुर्भग्नेश्वराः कान्ति तां जिगीषवनौजसा ।
कासयः कमलानीव शुष्कस्रोतस्विनौजसा ॥ ५३ ॥

jahurbhagneśvarāḥ kānti tāṃ jigīṣavanaujasā |
kāsayaḥ kamalānīva śuṣkasrotasvinaujasā || 53 ||

The Kasias were eager to despoil the tinsels from the dead bodies of the chiefs by their valour, as the summer heat robs the beauty of lotuses in a drying pool.
