The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

पुरोगतैरप्यनवाप्तरूपैस्तरङ्गिणीतुङ्गतरङ्गकल्पैः ।
क्रियाफलैर्दैववशादुपेतैर्विडम्ब्यते भिन्नरुचिर्हि लोकः ॥ १६ ॥

purogatairapyanavāptarūpaistaraṅgiṇītuṅgataraṅgakalpaiḥ |
kriyāphalairdaivavaśādupetairviḍambyate bhinnarucirhi lokaḥ || 16 ||

Wealth whether forthcoming or unattainable, whether got by labour or given by fortune, is all as deceitful to the worldly minded, as the high waters of rivers.
