The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

नवं नवं प्रीतिकरं न शिशुः प्रत्यहं यदि ।
प्राप्नोति तदसौ याति विषवैषम्यमूर्च्छनाम् ॥ १८ ॥

navaṃ navaṃ prītikaraṃ na śiśuḥ pratyahaṃ yadi |
prāpnoti tadasau yāti viṣavaiṣamyamūrcchanām || 18 ||

Boys are fond of fresh things at all times, and on their failing to get the same, they fall to a fainting fit, as if from the effect of poison.
