Traditionally, the Brahmandapurana is said to consist of 12,000 verses metrical Sanskrit verses, however, the more important manuscript contains over 14,000 shlokas.

Original Sanskrit title: Brahmāṇḍapurāṇa (ब्रह्माण्डपुराण) or Brahmāṇḍa-purāṇa (ब्रह्माण्ड पुराण).
