Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तं मां महाफलं विद्धि पदं सुकृतकर्मणः ।
दुष्प्रापं विप्रमूढानां मार्गं योगैर्निषेवितम् ॥ २५ ॥

taṃ māṃ mahāphalaṃ viddhi padaṃ sukṛtakarmaṇaḥ |
duṣprāpaṃ vipramūḍhānāṃ mārgaṃ yogairniṣevitam || 25 ||
