Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. न हीयं स्ववशा बाला कामयत्यद्य मामिह ।
चोदितैषा ह्यनङ्गेन शरीरान्तरचारिणा ।
भगिनी तव दुर्बुद्धे राक्षसानां यशोहर ॥ ४ ॥

na hīyaṃ svavaśā bālā kāmayatyadya māmiha |
coditaiṣā hyanaṅgena śarīrāntaracāriṇā |
