Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यथा क्षेत्रं मृदूभूतमद्भिराप्लावितं तथा ।
जनयत्यङ्कुरं कर्म नृणां तद्वत्पुनर्भवम् ॥ ३२ ॥

yathā kṣetraṃ mṛdūbhūtamadbhirāplāvitaṃ tathā |
janayatyaṅkuraṃ karma nṛṇāṃ tadvatpunarbhavam || 32 ||
