Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तेऽपतन्त हता बाणैर्नानारूपैः किरीटिना ।
सविमाना यथा सिद्धाः स्वर्गात्पुण्यक्षये तथा ॥ ५ ॥

te'patanta hatā bāṇairnānārūpaiḥ kirīṭinā |
savimānā yathā siddhāḥ svargātpuṇyakṣaye tathā || 5 ||
