श्री-नारद उवाच
अष्टानां वै वसूनां च
द्रोणो मुख्यो धरा-पतिः
अनपत्यो विष्णु-भक्तो
देव-राज्यं चकार ह
śrī-nārada uvāca
aṣṭānāṃ vai vasūnāṃ ca
droṇo mukhyo dharā-patiḥ
anapatyo viṣṇu-bhakto
deva-rājyaṃ cakāra ha
śrī-nāradaḥ uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; aṣṭānām—eight; vai—certainly; vasūnām—of the Vasus; ca—also; droṇaḥ—Droṇa; mukhyaḥ—the first; dharā-patiḥ—the husband of Dharā; anapatyaḥ—without children; viṣṇu-bhaktaḥ—devoted to Lord Viṣṇu; deva-rājyam—kingdom; cakāra ha—did.
English translation of verse 1.15.6:
Śrī Nārada said: Nanda, Dharā's husband, was the best of the eight Vasus.
Childless, and a great devotee of Lord Viṣṇu, he ruled a kingdom in the realm of the demigods.
