Makaṭpāṟkāñci (மகட்பாற்காஞ்சி) [makaṭ-pāṟ-kāñci] noun < idem. +. (Puṟap.) Theme describing the refusal of a person belonging to an ancient clan to give his daughter in marriage to a king who asks for her hand; முதுகுடித்தலைவனிடம் நின் மகளைத் தருகவென்று கேட்கும் அரசனோடு அவன் மாறுபட்டு நிற்பதைக் கூறும் புறத்துறை.
