The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 5.80

अथ स परिहरन्निशीथचण्डं परिजनबोधकरं ध्वनिं सदश्वः ।
विगतहनुरवः प्रशान्तहेषश्चकितविमुक्तपदक्रमा जगाम ॥ ८० ॥

atha sa pariharanniśīthacaṇḍaṃ parijanabodhakaraṃ dhvaniṃ sadaśvaḥ |
vigatahanuravaḥ praśāntaheṣaścakitavimuktapadakramā jagāma || 80 ||

Then that good steed, avoiding all noises which would sound startling in the dead of night and awaken the household,—all sound of his jaws hushed and his neighing silenced,—went forth, planting his hurrying steps at full speed.
