This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 36.9

महासन्सारकान्तारे विप्रनष्टं जगत्त्रयं ।
अयं मार्गवरं श्रेष्ठं देशयिष्यति चक्षुंआन् ॥ ९ ॥

mahāsansārakāntāre vipranaṣṭaṃ jagattrayaṃ |
ayaṃ mārgavaraṃ śreṣṭhaṃ deśayiṣyati cakṣuṃān || 9 ||

The three-fold world was lost in the wilderness of recurrent birth. He, with his vision, will point out the most excellent Way. (9)
