This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 35.15

न च प्रज्वलते अग्निः निरयसहस्रेषु अद्य दिवसेन ।
न च वेदयन्ति दुःखं लोकान्तरिका विपद्यमाना ॥ १५ ॥

na ca prajvalate agniḥ nirayasahasreṣu adya divasena |
na ca vedayanti duḥkhaṃ lokāntarikā vipadyamānā || 15 ||

“To-day no fire blazes in the thousand hells, nor do the dismal regions between the worlds know aught of affliction. (15)
