This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 26.43

चक्षुमां ब्राह्मणो आसि अन्तेवासिश् च ते अहं ।
त्वयाहं चोदितो वीर पूर्वां जातिम् अनुस्मरेत् ॥ ४३ ॥

cakṣumāṃ brāhmaṇo āsi antevāsiś ca te ahaṃ |
tvayāhaṃ codito vīra pūrvāṃ jātim anusmaret || 43 ||

“Thou wert that wise brahman, and I was thy pupil, I who have been urged by thee, O valiant one, to call to mind a previous birth.” (43)
