This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 18.43

ईर्यापथां दर्शयन्ति चत्वारः पुरुषोत्तमाः ।
नो च परिश्रमस् तेषां जायते शुभकर्मिणां ॥ ४३ ॥

īryāpathāṃ darśayanti catvāraḥ puruṣottamāḥ |
no ca pariśramas teṣāṃ jāyate śubhakarmiṇāṃ || 43 ||

The pre-eminent men practise the four postures of the body, though no fatigue comes over these men of shining deeds. (43)
