The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.187.20

पञ्चानामिति भूतानामाकरत्वेन संविदः ।
पञ्च तान्युचिता ब्राह्म्यः प्रश्नः किं भास्करं प्रति ॥ २० ॥

pañcānāmiti bhūtānāmākaratvena saṃvidaḥ |
pañca tānyucitā brāhmyaḥ praśnaḥ kiṃ bhāskaraṃ prati || 20 ||

It is the reservoir of the five elements, which are the quintuple principles of our knowledge; and it being thus the container of the quintessence of Brahma, what is seen or anything else before it.
