The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सर्गादावेव नोत्पन्नं दृश्यं चिद्गगनं त्विदम् ।
स्वरूपं स्वप्नवद्भाति नान्यदत्रोपपद्यते ॥ ३२ ॥

sargādāveva notpannaṃ dṛśyaṃ cidgaganaṃ tvidam |
svarūpaṃ svapnavadbhāti nānyadatropapadyate || 32 ||

In the beginning there was no production of the visible world, nor is it anything more than the vacuum of the intellect; in its own and true form it appears as a dream, and is no other than that in its essence.
