The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विचित्रवर्णा विगुणा शून्ये च वितताकृतिः ।
जडस्पन्दोत्पातमयी शक्रचापलतेव खे ॥ १८ ॥

vicitravarṇā viguṇā śūnye ca vitatākṛtiḥ |
jaḍaspandotpātamayī śakracāpalateva khe || 18 ||

The variegated views which are stretched all about the empty air, without any connecting chain or link between them;are as the many coloured rainbows of heaven, which are described by the falling rains and melt into the empty air.
